Corticarte Apa Lagrange's – Swim Suit Ver 1/7 (New Line) review
By James. Filed in Figures Reviews |Tags: Corticarte
Finally , the long awaited (at least by me) second PVC from New Line is here . After a very beautifull first (Kousaka Tamaki) , which showed the effectiveness of New Line to make beautiful figures and a very great work on the hair but it also had a big problem of balance (it now leans 20 degrees because of weight and it’s impossible to recover …) , we’re now going to take a look at the cute Corticarte , which stand at a 1 / 7 scale (22 cm).
More under the cut
I was really waiting for this Corticarte because New Line , specialized in resins , had to correct the errors on the Kousaka to become as good as the majors (genus Alter and GSC) in the PVC world .
We are going to see if the bet is successful and if this Corticarte is not going to lean as much as Kousaka …
The first shock at the time of unpacking “oh a support bar
oh it’s a metalic one” .
So yes , New Line did correct the leaning problem , maybe not in the best way , because the bar is not going to be much appreciated by the figures collectors , but at least it’s going to stand up better this time …
The second notable thing when unpacking , the retail version is again not as good as the prototype … The painting with the eyes is less detailed (but it is a given with New Line, the Kousaka had the same problem) and the red cheeks , are not red anymore , just the same tone as the rest of the skin …
But it can be a good thing too , given that the prototype was a little too red . Removing it totally was it the best choice ? You decide , maybe a little blushing color would have been cute …
The base is almost the same as the Kousaka so it has again the same plastic look , not so great …
Anyway , looking at the figure herself , there is not much to say , the sculpt is really nice and the pose is cute , the painting is good but the hands and feet could have been a little more detailled maybe … but it’s a minor grip . The inner tube is really nicely done , with a painting with some nice shading effect .
But like a New Line trademark , the best part is the hair (like with the Kousaka) . It looks pretty awesome with nicely painted and sculpted . I love a lot ^^. The eyes are nicely done too and again they’re glossy
i guess it’s becoming a fashion , lots of figures lately have the same glossy eyes . It’s not a bad thing , as it makes the figure looking more “alive” .
Finally, and to stay short , i’ll let the pictures speaks . I am very pleased to see that New Line is progressing and correcting their problems and i hope that soon we will have PVCs from them as good as their resins . If they keep doing a nice job like that , we’ll have a serious contender for the best figures maker .
Anyway , this Corticarte is really nicely made and it’s really easy to spot that it’s a New Line product . It’s gratifying to see that a publisher has its own identity and does not just stupidly imitate others .
I give this Corticarte a good 4/5 and i can say that it’s a great figure and i’ll keep buying New Line products , as they did listen to the customers to make a better fig .

I still prefer her in her uniform. The could have added a bit more detail to the base as well. Like ur colour picks. I thought the orange colour worked very well. The detail in her hair looks great.
Will be keeping an eye on their future figure releases. ^^

The only problem with this figure I have a problem with is the pole… If it wasn’t there, it’ll look nice. Still, the pole is need to hold it up…
I might consider getting her…

A Bikini garter?? OMG I love it!! And Corti is just darling!! I have the GSC Corti in her lovely uniform. But I do have to say, this one looks superb too. I didnt think much in the preview shots I saw, but owning the GSC Corti has made me want more Corti… and her hair…. so gorgeous. Looks fantastic on the New Line too.
