Yagami Hayate 1/7 (Alter) review

Yagami Hayate , the master of the Book of Darkness in Nanoha A’s and StrikerS , is finally here after a long wait . But wainting from Alter is always good for us , as they always make awesome figures . This Hayate is no different and is worth the wait .
I always thought this figure was a more evoluted version of the previously released Exelica from Alter . I mean she got the pose and the wings (even if they were mechanicals for Exelica) . And with this retail version , i can only say that Hayate is everything Exelica was but way better . Alter is know for their flawless work and this time it’s surely one of their best .
The only visible difference compared to the proto pics is the wings , they were pure black , Alter choose to made them translucent so putting Hayate not far from a light can be your best bet .
The painting is really perfect , the paint on the clothes is really precise and i didn’t spot any dot of painting anywhere . The wings looks great and even the so little Reinforce is nicely done .
There is a second head in the box , so you can put her in Unison mode easily and a mini base for Reinforce (with her name on it) but i prefer to put her on Hayate’s wing .
Hayate stands at a good 26 cm (with the base) and is quite massive . Prepare some space to put her as she take the places of three figures .
So yes Alter did it again , it’s a beautiful figure , with perfect painting , a nice pose and nice colors (the golden color everywhere is a nice touch , so bad it doesn’t look more “metallic”) . The only downside is the price and maybe the size of the box , because if like me you’re keeping all the boxes , i wish you good luck for this one … I believe Alter wanted to beat their own record (of the biggest figure box , Exelica) because the size is scary . The record is broken i guess …
Anyway , if you have the money , Hayate is worth it .

mine is sitting under my desk, can’t wait to get home and unbox her ^_^
not sure if i prefer the solid black wings from the proto or the translucent they went with…. guess i’ll have to see it in person.

The lighting on the photo shoot is great you did good this time ^^
Contrary to the previous works from Alter this one is slightly different from what I see. The previous works have been a little darker compared to the prototypes but this one is almost an exact copy, the colors are perfect and filled with life and magic.

Ouch, she can’t fit into a Detolf eh? That will help in the decision making process somewhat I guess, though it would be nice to have her, if I can’t fit her in a Detolf, it wouldn’t be nice to leave her outside to gather dust (and my place is real dusty -.-). It wouldn’t do to leave a great figure imprisoned in the box as well *sigh*
Will have to wait till she arrives at the store before making the final judgment I guess =/

Great review n photoshoot. I just collected mine today and yet to open the box. Hope to do a review real soon. She is amazing just by admiring her in the box. ^_^

Absolutely wonderful. I am talking about both your photos of this sublime figure from Alter.
The only problem for me is that basis that I find too coarse and too big compared to the impression of light that emanates from Hayate
