Yuki Nagato Lolita version 1/7 (Griffon) review

More under the cut
Another Yuki Nagato figure in the market , this time from Griffon . Their Mikuru was quite a nice figure so let’s see how this one looks .
I have to say that i wanted to cancel my order , as i’m not a fan of Yuki at all … but i’m SO glad i didn’t cancel it … Griffon made an awesome figure all around .
This Yuki has a very solid feel , you’ll get value for your money , as she’s made half (maybe more) ABS . So i believe you won’t have to worry about leaning at all with this one .
Yuki stands at a good 24 cm and 1/7 scale . She’s is quite heavy and take a lot of space , thanks to the usual Griffon base . I don’t like Griffon bases a lot but i’m not here to review the base so let’s say it’s the only “flaw” of the figure
Quality wise , Griffon did it . I am really impressed , more impressed than what i saw lately from Good Smile or Kotobukiya … I was pointing out in my review of Mikuru than people from Griffon were improving a lot so yes that’s it , they did way better than i expected them to do ever .
The face face is really cute , it’s nice to see a faint smile on Yuki’s face (i know some people are not happy about the smile , saying that it’s out of character , but i think it’s quite a sweet change) and her hair is nicely done , nice color and shading . The dress is really impressive , full of details everywhere and the colors used are really perfect for her . The painting is precise and even small pieces are painted to the perfection . Her bag is nice too , looking like it’s really in wood and the books and bear in it are well detailled too .
So that’s it , it’s surely Griffon’s masterpiece and maybe my favorite figure , thanks to the awesome and precise painting , the great and well chosen colors and the attention to detail . The solid feel from the ABS is sure helping to give a sense of value for the money . A great figure overall but sadly , being from Griffon she won’t get the proper attention that she deserves …
A beautiful and colorful figure , with perfect painting and a great overall look . Best work from Griffon yet and surely the best figure for this start of the year . Must buy if you like quality and awesome looking dresses (and her nails are pink painted , that’s always a plus
)
9.7/10
Lots of pictures this time , but she is worth it . Next review is going to be Caroline then Kos-Mos .

Superbe review pour une superbe figurine.
Griffon, maintenant, je ferai attention.. (s’ils se décident à faire des lolis :’( )
Heureusement que c’est Yuki, sinon j’aurai dû succomber au “achète achète ”

Nice. This Yuki is turning out much better than I expected she would. Love the dress. Griffon are making some great figures, if only they would change their bases. (^_^)”

Griffon is one of those that is either a total win or lose but in any case we cannot deny that their quality is increasing while on the other hand GSC figures that I’ve been seeing are disappointing me (hope Saber Lily doesn’t).
This Yuki version is unique, way cuter than the Haruhi one, the dress is simply amazing and her expression gorgeous, although the hair could had a better work it looks like it came from a dragon ball version of super saiyan with small bananas xD but appart from she’s a great fig and good to know that she has a lot of ABS

I was waiting for a review on this figure. I’ve been debating between the two goth loli yuki figures, at least which one to chose if I do decide to get one. This one is very nice looking, I might just have to get her in the near future, maybe. I see nothing wrong with the smile.

I was never into the Griffon Gothic Punk Haruhi line because the faces on the characters weren’t always accurately depicted. BUT I will say this for Griffon enterprises though, despite the ugly colors chosen for this dress, I love the dress itself. I am a big fan of ruffles and the ruffles are very nice on this. Also, do you see the extra care of detail when it comes to painting those lines on her dress. My gosh, I’m amazed at how straight and proportional all the lines are relative to one another. That’s really a true testament to good quality control and talent to make those lines even and straight. Thanks for the pics. I think I like Yuki the best out of the three.

Nice and sharp photos! Purple background ftw!
After owning some GSC and Alter figures, I felt that Griffon was bad at making Haruhi Gothic Lolita ver. So I didn’t bother making another Griffon purchase. But Yuki Lolita seems to show much improvements!

I have to disagree, her face looks kinda flat. :s
Nevertheless, her dress is the real winner here. Pink fingernails goes will with a pink colourful dress and I reckon her dress is the real highlight of her.
I’m still thinking of getting Griffion figure but the high Yen just killed that dream. -_-

Although Yuki’s face comments, I think with this figure all the gang is in Gothic Lolita version.

YAY for Yuki. YAY for this review. I have been waiting for reviews from my favourite reviewers but seems that you are the first who did it. I pre-ordered her at my local store when she was first up for pre-order. Then! The store somehow fail my order as griffon somehow fail their order. Now, i am still not sure if my Yuki is coming or not. T.T
Yea, lots of yuki fans said that the face is wrong, but i love it. The smile makes her more kawaii.

@ Caziro : achete achete (©myself) ! Rien que pour avoir dans la collec la plus belle fig du marché
@ ELTboy : agree for the bases but i don’t think they’ll ever change that ^^
@ Belela-san : didn’t buy the Haruhi , don’t like her face at all … but yeah , Griffon is awesome (sometimes ^^)
@ Vixion : i can’t agree with that , she does look like Yuki , maybe more than some other max factory figure … but that’s only my opinion
. Maybe if you see her in real , you’ll fall in love with her smile
@ Ron : her face is awesome for me so yeah ^^ and thanks !
@ Persocom : if you were going to buy only one figure for 6 month , you should buy this one … best quality ever
@ Rin : not good , awesome , better than latest GSC , Max Fact and most of Alter ! Thank you
@ Yuuu : t’es trop chou tu sais :’(
@ Jem : can’t agree for the colors (but it’s a matter of personal taste) , i think they’re awesome , it’s a nice change than all the plain colors that the other big makers are using … at least Griffon is taking more risks . But yes the quality control for this one seems great , i was impressed
@ Divine Fang : I agree , i didn’t buy Haruhi buy Mikuru was already nice and this Yuki is just fantastic ! And thank you
@ optic : and i’ll keep saying that her face is not flat and better made than some overrated GSC figures
. I hope you’ll see her in real and change your opinion
and i won’t even speak of Saber Gift , as the quality is not as good as this Yuki but everyone wants her , just because it’s GSC … Poor Yuki , she needs more love
@ phossil : we need gothic loli Kyon (or not :p)
@ super rats : glad to see you agree with me ! You should see her in real , it’s just beautiful (and heavy ^^)
@ Chappy : I so hope you’ll get her ! if not she is available at HLJ and because she’s from Griffon , she won’t get sold out before a while … so you should be able to find her easily
. And i’m not even one of your favorites reviewers ? How mean :’( :p .
Thanks all for the comments ^^
Tomorrow , review of Kos Mos swimsuit

While the flamoyant colours and the smile doesn’t seem very Nagato, the figure itself is very nicely sculpted. I mean, look at the basket! The frills on the clothings are crazy too, and they made me @_@

This figure of Yuki is so kawaii (L)
She reminds me the Little Red Riding Hood… with a kind of innoncence.
Griffon should learn the 5th lesson :

They’re scaring ! All of the Griffon’s figures have the same base >_<

@ Q : glad you agree with me
. It’s the best figure ever
@ Jintoo : agree for the base , but maybe it’s not worst than Kotobukiya bases for the Shining Wind series

Damn that’s a lovely amount of detail on that figure. And those are some pretty ace shots there, if you don’t mind me asking, what camera do you use?

The Craftmanship is excellent but i dislike the colorchoice. The dress is too colourfull for a character like Yuki.I know,i know the whole outfit isnt in character but still…
Shes a sweet figure nevertheless!

@ Snark : i’m using a 400 D (Kiss x) with the 70-200 f4 L lens from Canon
@ Blowfish : i looove the colors , i prefer that it doesn’t fit the character , as we already have lots of plain looking Yuki everywhere … my opinion only ^^

I’m not much of a Yuki fan either, but that costume is absolutely gorgeous. Everything from the hat to the shoes looks amazing.

Yep, I’m also not a big Yuki fan. Pretty much a Rei clone, no offense. Then again, we’ve seen millions of Rei clones already.
But that’s not the point. I’m not really looking at Nagato in these photos. I’m more impressed by the outfit. It sure is detailed!
