Exelica Nendoroid – Trigger Heart Exelica Enhanced (Good Smile) review

Here’s the first Nendoroid from the game Trigger Heart Exelica . This one is limited and is ONLY sold with the limited edition of the enhanced version of the Dreamcast game , for the Playstation 2 . As a fan of the characters from this game , i just needed to buy it , even if i’m bored of the Nendoroids . Initially planned for a 2008 release , Exelica was pushed back to March 2009 and here she is , finally . People at Good Smile sure love to make us wait .
Now that the wait is over , was it worth waiting for the re release of a Dreamcast game with just new CGs , a big box with just a Nendo and a so high price ? I think it’s a no , even if the Nendoroid is good , i can’t understand why we have to paid such a crazy price for a 2007 game (sold 50 dollars two years ago and now available on the Xbox live marketplace for like 12 dollars !) . That said , i still paid , because it’s the only way to get the Nendoroid , marketing people sure knows how otaku’s like us feel …
Let’s get back on the review , i won’t say much , there’s no surprises , it’s a Nendo from Good Smile so you know what to expect . The paint job and the quality is on par with the other Nendoroids but it’s nice to see that Good Smile used EXACTLY the same colors and painting than the 1/8 scale Exelica so she looks the way she should be . It’s nice too to see that she comes with 3 faces , another pair of legs and an optional arm , Nendos lovers are gonna be pleased with that . Of course she comes too with the two “pods” weapons that the 1/8 version had .
So yes , if you love the game or the character and if you have the money , you can buy this one without thinking , you probably won’t be disapointed BUT i am a little . All is not perfect , as on mine two of the heads were impossible to take off , i had to use a pair of pliers and even with that it was very hard … And the legs don’t come out at all on mine , i don’t want to force too much but it’s the first time i had this problem on a Nendoroid … So i wasn’t able to take pics with the other legs on … Quite sad to see that on a high priced limited figure … I hope it’s only mine who had this problem …
Still it’s the ultimate Nendoroid , the awesome character design of Exelica associated to the cuteness of the Nendos series and we’ve got a winner . Don’t think lots of figures collectors are gonna be able to resist buying this one.
9.5/10 : An awesome looking Nendoroid , really cute with nice colors and painting . A must buy , if you’re ok to pay more that it should be …

She looks freaking awesome, very nice pictures. I can’t justify buying a character I don’t know from a game I haven’t played at an extremely high price though unfortunately. I really don’t like it when things are included with games or are exclusive to magazines, etc.

C’est vrai que ça faisait un moment que tu n’avais pas posté de nouvelles reviews.
Je pensais que la prochaine serait Senhime d’Alter, mais non.
Pour le coup, tu t’es surpassé sur ces nouvelles photos d’Exelica. Elles sont vraiment jolies et les couleurs ressortent bien.
Ce fond blanc est vraiment passe partout.
Sinon, cette nendo d’Exelica est très sympa. Quand on est fan, on ne compte pas et j’te comprend. Si une nendo StrikerS était au même prix, j’hésiterai même pas.
Bref, vivement tes prochaines reviews.

Shes a nice chibi rendition of her “big sister”.Wouldnt want to spend a 50$ on her though.
Only played the Trigger Heart Exelica Demo on my brothers Xbox. Im Wii only,No Anime Shmups for me

Pas pris la Senhime , je regrette un peu d’ailleurs , elle est sublime …
Le fond blanc permet de ne montrer que la figurine et c’est le mieux pour les reviews . Et puis j’ai rien d’autre en fond glossy

Et non , la boite est meme pas impressionnante , je pense que c’est 1 : une illusion d’optique qui faisait qu’elle paraissait grande ou 2 : le japonais sur la photo qui n”est pas tres grand et costaud
Bref je vote pour la 2 ^^
En gros la boite fait la taille de deux boites de nendos cote a cote
(mais je love la boite , l’artwork dessus est trop beau , je le veux en wallpaper :’()

GSC really likes to do a lot of limited and exclusive figures lately, and it’s getting quite annoying (well I would be if I happen to be a fan of the characters they release).
This Exelica looks like a nice faithful portrayal of the original scaled version. Would love to see them side by side! It’s too bad that a lot of the parts are really stiff and not easy to interchange though

She is so so cute. I couldn’t agree more that she is the ulitmate nendo currently. But I hate it when they are bundled with games. I only want the nendo so wouldn’t pay that much for the bundle. Will try my luck on auction even if the prices are still a bit too high for my liking.

gotta pick mine up from the post office tomorrow but I think i’m already of like mind after seeing your review & foobarz’s. just a bit too pricey. even with the game… since it’s so cheap on xbox live orz
on the other hand, i think she’s exactly what i expected. kawaiiiiii ^_^ can’t wait to get her… both to review and play! (even though i suck at shooters ^^;)

Very cute but very expensive. I don’t see why GSC don’t make a separate release. I’m sure the can milk more money if they have bundle and separate releases.
