Konjiki no Yami – Golden Darkness 1/8 (Good Smile) review

Here’s the awesome Yami , this time from Good Smile . Already out of stock nearly everywhere , i can only say no one will get disapointed buying her , as she looks 99.9 % like the proto .
This one was made to be paired with the Good Smile Lala so the pose and overall look are really similar . Like Lala , the sculptor at Good Smile chose to put Yami in a one foot pose , using ABS to prevent bending . The best thing about Yami is that she’s really dynamic , i believe it’s the only figure that made us feel she’s really spinning or moving , i mean , look at the hair (full ABS too) and the way the clothes are floating in the air ! Her face and expression are quite great too , she’s already preparing to kill the people looking at her pantsu ^^ . But do we have any choice ? It’s not as she was wearing a lots of clothes right ? An optional arm is in the box , this way you can change her right hand into a deadly blade (in the show she can transform any part of her body into weapons) .
The painting is really nicely done , there is some great détails on her clothes and her skin tone looks good . The overall quality of this Yami is really good , it’s Good Smile at their best , and that’s a good thing .
Yami’s fans can be happy to now be able to chose between two great looking figures . The Alpha Omega version was already a must buy , with a good pose , a nice base and a cute expression , when this Good Smile version is more dynamic and shiny .
So comparing the Alpha/Omega version to this one , which is the best ? . Tough choice indeed …
If i had to choose , i would go for the Alpha/Omega one : painting a little more precise (no one can beat Alter’s painting finish) and her pose and expression , while eating taiyaki is more cute . The overall look is a little better too . But Good Smile’s Yami has an awesome dynamic pose , glossy paint and aweome hair (and a nice pantsu view) so she’s a worthy choice too . I guess the only way to find out wich one to buy is to ask to yourself if your prefer sitting figures or standing ones .
9/10 : a great dynamic figure from Good Smile , and she looks exactly like the proto shots so it’s impossible to be disapointed with her . A worthy choice if you’re in need of a Yami figure .

nice pose, you reckon the peg is strong enough to hold her in that pose? her pose is very similar to moetan GSC, and I had to do something on her peg and base otherwise she keep falling forward
mate, get 1 cheap lamp for frontal light

I love the sense of motion GSC managed to capture in Yami …outstanding! So far, all the reviews of her that I have seen is very very positive. Can’t wait to receive mine. I was initially tempted by Alpha Omega’s Yami too but eventually settled for GSC’s so that she can make a pair with Lala since I prefer Lala in her original outfit (even though I feel Alpha’s Lala is of better quality).
Looking forward to your review on Unity May! Hope you dont mind clearing my doubts as to whether the angle of her tilt is different from the prototype since mine is still in her box. ^^”

Being a character highly resembling to Eve from Black Cat, GSC has done a good job on Yami. No noticeable deviation from proto figure, and still looks awesome as it is. Dynamic pose, great hair flow. What can ask for?
But gotta save the money for Fate… She’s a real killer for me x_X

En fin de compte, bien qu’elle soit jolie et que la finition soit parfaite, y’a un truc qui ne passe plus.
J’avais choisi de ne pas prendre la Alpha x Omega pour celle-ci. Maintenant, je m’en mort les doigts.
Cependant, elle reste tout de même superbe et fidèle au proto. Après, c’est juste une question de goût qui arrive un peu tard malheureusement.
En tout cas, j’attends avec impatience tes nouvelles photos de Yami, elles me feront peut-être changer d’avis.

I haven’t finished the series and I’m not even half way there yet so I kinda lost in her character. lol
A very dynamic pose which I like. Love her dress which is very unique indeed.
Well, when I’m done with the series and if I like her, I will get her. xD

Ce qui fait la force de cette version, je pense que c’est son dynamisme avec le mouvement des cheveux qui a l’air d’être travaillé. Un détail très sympathique, mais qui n’effacera pas, je pense, la version d’Alpha X Omega, plus mignonne et originale (rien que le socle et l’accessoire ~ tayaki tayaki ~ ). Après, ça va dépendre des goûts de chacun. Mais ma préférence reste pour la Alpha x Omega que je n’aurai pas (heureusement Shad l’a).
Il reste ue la figurine est très mignonne et que la qualité est là. Donc bon boulot de l’éditeur sans grande surprise.
Tes photos sont jolies. Je ne suis pas toujours fan du fond blanc, mais là le rendu est sympathique. C’est comme si parfois les méches ou les vêtements se fondaient dedans et j’aime beaucoup! Donc félicitation mon chou ^^

Tu attendais trop je pense , elle est conforme au perso et au proto . C’est juste que le design de Yami reste simple et avec peu de couleurs . Ca doit etre ca qui te fait préférer la pose de l’Alpha/Omega

Kyaaaah Yami-chan !! une des figurines que j’attends avec le plus d’impatience ! et Unity May en teaser… >__< tu veux m’achever, c’est ça ? comme d’hab, je les aurai avec trois plombes de retard… m’enfin, elles valent vraiment l’attente, et ces figurines ne font que confirmer la place de Good Smile dans la cour des grands !
Pour tes photos, tu n’as éclairé que le fond, je me trompe ? Du coup la figurine en elle-même paraît sombre… je suppose qu’on ne peux pas et éclairer la fig, et éclairer le fond à la fois ? (ie : ça ferait trop de source de lumière) Pour obtenir un effet halo, ce serait ptête mieux de passer par un soft ?
erf, ça fait beaucoup de questions lol, mais bon, puisque tu t’y connais mieux que moi, hein pita(ecchi)-sensei ^o^

Sur mon ecran ca n’est pas vraiment sombre et c’est un effet voulu pour contraster avec le fond . La fig en elle meme est eclairée par le flash . Je pourrais sans doute avoir de meilleures photos avec une 3eme lampe éclairant la fig mais je n’ai pas la place . Quand a retoucher avec un soft , j’essaie de ne pas du tout modifier mes photos donc c’est non

J’ai longtemps hésité concernant l’achat de cette version, étant donné que j’adore celle de Alpha/Omega, mais ta review et ça superbe pose dynamique (ses cheveux, j’adore !) mon finalement fait craquer, vivement quel arrive !

Et voilà, la 2ème yami est sortie et je n’en ai toujours aucune :’(
Je préfère quand meme la 1ère version… je la trouve beaucoup plus mimi entrain de manger son biscuit. Mais celle-ci a beaucoup de style grâce à son dynamisme.
