Ichiban Kuji Premium Ranka Lee 1/8 (Banpresto) review

And another Ranka figure … Harder to get but worth the try .
As you can see on the pics , the overall look of this Ranka is great , she is represented in her trademark pose , with her real colors and her favorite clothes (and she even has the FANGS !) . Even Ai-kun (the strange green thing on her base) is here . But Banpresto is not Alter or Max Factory , as the painting is not perfect , with some dots there and there and the PVC quality is not the best . But even with those minor grips , this PVC figure of Ranka is quite solid all around (her dress looks awesome with some great shading and great details) , and the fact that it’s the first Ranka figure that looks exactly like in the anime is surely going to make fans happy . But beware , as she’s hard to find , the prices on auctions sites are quite high . Just wait until you can get one at a correct price but don’t wait too long .

Finally a real Ranka figure , sadly a limited item again . But if you’re a Ranka fan , this one is the one to get , at least until the Good Smile version is out . Good work from Banpresto , but the painting and finish could have been better .

On another note , yes a review ! After thinking a little and reading all your messages/getting mails , i decided to try a little more . I worked a little this month so i was able to buy 3 figures (so yes , two reviews coming next week , Ichiban Kuji Lala and Haruna) and i will buy another figure in september/october . So i won’t be able to post as much as i was before , but at least i can keep doing reviews and taking some pics , and that makes me happy . And i believe with all my problems lately , stopping everything would be too bad …
So yeah , thanks a lot for the support guys ! I really appreciate it !

Grande nouvelle ! Je suis bien contente d’apprendre que tu continues !!!! De toute manière, tu pouvais pas arrêter, vu que tu es le meilleur ^^
Une jolie figurine (d’ailleurs j’adore le choix de fond des premières photos, ça colle vraiment bien). Même si pour l’instant, je préfère la Megahouse. J’attends la Good Smile Company pour avoir une version fidèle au personnage et de bonne qualité. Vivement la colorisation.
Bref, t’es chou et t’es le meilleur !

That’s pretty sweet stuff, considering it’s actually by Banpresto. Never watched Macross Frontier somehow though so I’m immune to all this poison present within your sweet pics ^^; Only caught a few scenes of it here and there so thankfully I’m able to resist most of the figures from this series :p
On another note, glad to hear you’re not about to throw in the towel yet and it’s really great to be able to see your pictures once again =) Hopefully things improve even more for you and we’ll be once again treated to your pics and reviews even more regularly ^___^b

I’ve had a couple of friends I’ve introduced to Magic: the Gathering. One spent a lot of money in a year and a half, and then quit. The other who didn’t go totally overboard kept playing for 4 years more.

Oh, another suggestion, space your reviews.
If you have three figures now, and none until September/October, don’t have two review posts next week. Have one next week, and have the second two weeks from now, even if it’s ready next week.
Space the posts, ensure your blog’s fresh content for longer, rather than in short bursts.

I tried to do that , but when i get a figure , i just do the pics right away in most case , i just love photography so yeah ^^
And well , i always try to do the reviews fast , this way it can help people to choose what figure to get or not . But you’re right , I SHOULD do that …

It’s a bit odd that I haven’t watched Macross Frontier yet since Robotech and Macross DYRL were some of the first anime shows I watched and Macross Plus is still one of my favorite shows.

i actually liked it a lot though felt a little disappointed in the ending (mm i guess spoiler alert for any of those who haven’t seen it) for the lack of resolution with the love triangle. usually that doesn’t bother me so much with more action based shows… but they really focus quite a bit on the relationships so i got lured into visual novel mode and expected some results ^^;

Given that this is from Banpresto, is this a prize item? They tend to be lesser in quality, but are definitely much more affordable compared to the big brands. However like trading figures and shokugans, prize items are constantly improving in qualities.

Great way to save money is to buy some figmas or nendoroids and make stories and just let us feed off of that while you save money^^ Hope things get even better for you so you can fully enjoy bringing in figures and doing reviews
