Velvet (E2046/Gathering) review

Velvet from the game Odin Sphere is finally here ! Well, the Gathering version is, as i couldn’t wait for the PVC version (besides, i’m not a fan of Yamato … they’re good with resin figures but not so much with PVC ones …). When this version is a little different from the Yamato version (the face, hair color), she’s still totally awesome and she has a prettier face. And you’re getting a second weapon , the chain of dual snakes, this way you can expose her with any of her two weapons. Of course , this Gathering version being a recast, Velvet lose some details (the hands) from the original kit, but she’s still great.
So yeah, Velvet is looking gorgeous, the painting is perfect and her face looks stunning, love her eyes so much. And the star base is so detailled and beautiful. Still hesitating ? If you’re an Odin Sphere fan, i wouldn’t put my trust on Yamato’s version, the prepainted version looks already better than the proto shots … So my opinion is, get this one when you still can ! Velvet is still up on preorders at E2046 here
And yes, i changed the rating system, i was giving too high ratings so now i’m gonna be more hard on figures. Velvet is getting 4.5 Exelica out of 5.
A beautiful prepainted figure, with a gorgeous face and stunning eyes. Her clothes and overall look can looks strange to people who doesn’t know anything about the game, but the fans are gonna be happy. Her star shaped base is beautifully detailled and great too. If you’re fan of the game, don’t miss her, she’s the Velvet you want to get.
The details on the chain of snakes are awesome, but i still prefer her other weapon, it goes better with her overall colors.

Next review soon, with a big resin figure, not really sexy (from the outside) but fans of a certain older game will like her a lot.

J’adore le nouveau système de notation, je trouve ça juste trop adorable ! Pour la figurine, c’est une superbe sculpture, mais je n’accroche pas à la forme de ses seins, et à l’extrême finesse de sa taille. Mais sinon, elle est juste magnifique. J’aimerai qu’Alter nous sorte son adaptation, pour aller avec Mercedes (Nah je prendrai pas Gwendolyn, car elle a les cheveux courts). Bref, t’es trop chou, et tes photos sont magnifiques avec un fond blanc lumineux à souhait.

The details of the snakes and the filigree on her base are almost exquisite, but other things bother me.
First, her pointed nipples aren’t as worry-some as I thought. Her pose, and the stretching in her abdomen’s side as she stretches are still not things I’m too keen on, to be honest. Her expressions seems almost /vacant/, which is not what you’d expect from someone just turning behind her and holding weapons, you know? Her face’s composition also seems odd, probably the eyes are too wide across, and take too much of her face’s width.
Her flesh, its colours and painting are very well, but I can’t say it of her clothing: It’s WAY too shiny. It looks plasticky and kinda fake. Also, what about this rag/fabric around her pelvis? It looks like someone stole her pants and she had to wear some trash-bag and wrap it around her waist

It’s as i said , her style and clothing is not going to please everyone , but it’s the chara design of the game , so yeah
It’es not that shiny in real , the pictures made it looks that way .

Elle est sublime!!! J’ai longtemps hésité : “je prends, je prends pas …” et au final, j’ai pas pris.
Comme Leonia, j’espère une adaptation du personnage par Alter.
En tout cas, j’adore tes photos, en particulier celles en gros plans.
Quand à ton nouveau système de notation en 5 Exelica, c’est très bien trouvé.

Tout simplement magnifique!!! Tes photos comme la figurine. Je n’ai pas pu prendre la gathering mais j’ai pré-commandé celle de yamato. j’espère ne pas être déçue.
Et comme Leonia et chrono-kun, j’aime beaucoup ton systhème de notation par exelica. C’est trop choupi!

I’m not exactly a fan of E2046 recasts but this seems to be a pretty decent figure. I really do like her pose and clothing but like Guy pointed out, she seems a bit too shiny. Not sure if that is from the material used or just the lighting. I’ll just wait for the Alter version of her ^^.
Also, that Samus figure is awesome. I was very tempted to get it myself but decided to pass in the end. The lights are really cool ^^

une très belle pièce. j’attends aussi une version Alter donc je n’ai pas pris la gathering ni Yamato !!
pour tes photos toujours aussi superbes … par conte je trouve que ça fait trop blanc et déjà qu’elle a pas beaucoup d’ombrage donc ça la rend … très pâle !!
un fond moins lumineux aurait peut être été mieux ^^

J’aime bien les photos tres lumineuses , y a deja assez de photographes pour les photos d’ambiance/plus sombre
Je pense perso que seul le fond blanc permets de montrer les vraies couleurs . Mais ces photos sont trop lumineuses il est vrai , mes réglages etaient mauvais …

Wow, I am totally enchanted by her face… And I do agree that Yamato’s stuff can either be a hit or miss… As usual, nice photos! ^^

She looks great! I thought about getting E2046’s version because of the removable skirt but I think I’ll wait and see how Yamato’s figure turns out.
