Yagyu Jubei 1/8 (Alter) review

I know that lots of people were waiting for Jubei, and i’m pretty sure that she won’t disappoint anyone . Before taking the pictures, i was planning to say that the painting on Jubei was less precise than on Aries or Narika, but she’s way more detailed and the sculptor put a lot of work on her . It’s really fun to take pics of Jubei, she’s the type of figures that looks great from all angles and there is a lot to see on her .
A great looking girl with dual katana, Jubei is painted with lots of details . A samurai girl with beautiful curves (awesome legs and thighs), great colors and a nice pose. The ropes on her back/thigh and swords are a nice original touch (and nicely done). A great figure if you love the overall design … and the visible pantsu …I know i do .
Jubei gets 4 Exelica out of 5.

Your photos really made the red pop. I think this is one figure where the red was definitely the right choice. Of course, you know me, and I must point out the downside of the photos as well
The red combined with the gleam on the hair makes it look a bit… flat, as if it’s dry hair. This is also something that really struck me about the Jubei limited version, that while the hair was sculpted nicely, it felt stiff and lifeless.
Yeah, this figure is kind of like the Claymore anime… it doesn’t strike you at first, there doesn’t seem to be any one thing you can point at as special with it, but as a whole, it just sucks you in.
I was sad when I had money, wanted to order her, and she was out of stock everywhere

My lens loves (or hates
) red so figures with red always looks more redish that it is in reality ^^
I kinda agree with you on the hair, i wanted to point out that the only not awesome part of the figure was the hair, but the rest of the figure is so flawless and awesome that i didn’t .
Check ebay, i’m sure you can still find Jubei there. Or check Animaxis.com, they get restock sometimes.

I think it’s the lighting. My other camera when I used the “Close objects” mode, had a distinct extra-vividness for red as well.

Elle est juste superbe, et tes photos sont juste sublimes. Franchement Jubei ressort d’autant plus sur fond noir (je préfère d’ailleurs sur fond noir que sur fond blanc). J’ai désormais, encore plus hâte, de la recevoir. Tu continues à me faire baver avec tes photos ! C’est l’une des figurines que j’attendais le plus cette année, et je suis absolument pas déçue de ce que je découvre, et ce malgré la note donnée par Foobarbaz. Il s’agit d’une des plus belles réalisations de 2009 pour moi, et le détail (la corde, les vêtements), les couleurs (vives et belles), et les yeux juste trop beaux (Yuu aime les yeux bleus!) sont autant de choses qui me font craquer pour elle. Bref, beau boulot ! Aller, suivant maintenant

(Yuu s’est fait chier à taper un super long message pour se tapr un Fatal error…) DONC, je disais.
Cette figurine est juste superbe, et tes photos sont juste sublimes. J’attends avec plus d’impatience encore la belle Jubei, qui est, à mes yeux, l’une des figurines que j’attendais le plus (et en passant l’une des plus belles sculptures). Le détail (la corde, les vêtements), les couleurs (superbement vives), les yeux (d’un bleu profond), autant de chose qui me font complétement craquer. Tu as décidé de faire baver ta Yuu, avoue ! Aller, maintenant, suivante, que tu me dégoutes de nouveau xD

I have seen Jubei around for some time but I never attempted to get her, looks like a nice figure. I would have picked her up if I wasn’t so burdened by my Dollfie Dream Daughters. Nice to see you got 1/4 Fate as well, looking forward to your review since my has some quality problem.

Well i’m so jealous of your dollphie
Just saw your Fate , mine don’t have the same defect , just the paint not the same on a part of her swimsuit but it’s hard to spot so it’s fine . My Nanoha is flawless too . Each figure can have defect , parts missing and stuff . Sadly we can’t do anything about it , just pray to be lucky to always get a flawless one .

I know I said this a few times already but anyway, I’m still gonna have a crack in getting the swimsuit version. I understand it’s a very limited release of only 1500 peicies.
Overall , a well designed figure but her pose doesn’t suit my taste. One of the reasons why I skipped her and going for the swimsuit one. xD

Encore une figurine que je regrette d’avoir annuler… Mais bon, en même temps, ça me fait faire quelques économies. ^^

I passed on this figure because I’m getting some other more ecchi figures :p Hey I think you need to recalibrate the white balance for your black background photoshoot otherwise photoshop with red photo filter. It looks a bit yellowish here.

Isn’t she pretty? She is one of those figures which make people ‘buy first think later’.
