So the figure i was waiting for the most is not as flawless as i thought she would be. I mean, yes she does looks awesome and the painting is indeed way better than on World is Mine, but there is still some flaws there and there and again i will say that Good Smile QC is not as great as it was … Worse part is the base, constitued of three parts glued together. Sadly the hight of each part is not the same as the others so there is like five millimeters difference between the front of the base and the back … And the chains are a real bother to put on, the instructions are really stupids, we can’t see anything on it … Because of all that, the gun can’t really stay in place so if you move the figure , beware.

Still it’s not all that bad and the overall look of BRS is great and the retail version looks like the proto shots. So you won’t be disapointed, but i do hope these (minor ?) problems are not affecting all BRS.

Black Rock Shooter gets 4 Exelica out of 5.

Good: Great overall look,beautiful base, good paint job (the coat looks awesome !) .

Bad: Base isn’t flat, chains are a bother to put on, gun’s not standing correctly. Quality control again ?

Oh what a bummer that you seem to be unlucky again with your figure.Personally I am a bit disappointed about the rich colour of her scar.I really liked the toned down colours of the proto and to be honest it was the main attraction for me to buy her.I know this is nit-picking but yet im a bit disappointed.I hope mine arrives this week

I don’t like the finish on the gun, it looks more like an ancient cannon, which is not smooth and is somewhat imperfect. Modern guns are very sleek and smooth, so that’s a bit annoying.

Her eyes, hm, they seem to need a bit more depth? But then again, everything about the figure is so flat (get it, I’m so punny).

Also, are you sure it’s a QC issue about her base? Maybe it’s meant to be uneven, a broken and uneven ground where she had fought her enemies, or whatever. Ruins, maybe the ones where she found her ancient cannon

And even if it is QC, it wouldn’t surprise me, but it’d anger me. Wouldn’t surprise me because the more figures a company releases the more each would suffer, anger me, because with all the delays, you’d think they wouldn’t settle till they got it right… or they could have just delayed it some more! Of course, I think GSC is being stupid with the release schedule, unless it’s all planned to keep the hype fanned. They scheduled her for release a month or two after her base was still being sculpted and nothing was painted. Of course they then delayed it. You don’t actually give a release date of a month or two until you have the finished figure, and the molds, etc. if you’re still at building the prototype stage, better have it months ahead.

It is a QC issue, it’s the botom of the base, the part that should be flat to stay nicely in place and don’t move when there is some movement in the room ^^

Strange, still using the same theme you know. Are you using firefox ? Someone with firefox told me about a similar problem. I tried with Chrome and IE and didn’t see any problem.

Just installed and tried firefox to see (so slow compared to Chrome on my computer …) and no problem. Maybe it’s because i’m using bigger pics when before i was using little ones. What resolution are you using ?

Le style de Black Roch Shooter est définitivement une tuerie. J’adore le contraste entre l’apparence loli, et les cicatrices. La base est originale aussi, et nous change de nos habituels socles tuperware (elle est bien mieux que celle de la Blade version beaucoup plus simple surement car ils ont galéré comme des chiens avec cette première adaptation lol). Je ne sais pas encore si je mettrais la flamme ou pas, mais elle me chagrine beaucoup moins qu’auparavant. Je la vois plus comme une partie apparente de la figurine, alors qu’avant, j’aimais vraiment pas. Quand je pense que la mienne m’attend depuis plus d’une semaine. J’ai hâte !

J’ai de nombreuses fois changer d’avis sur ce dérivé de Miku Hatsune. De préco en annulation, je n’arrivais pas à me décider. Mais après avoir vu toutes les reviews qu’on peut voir sur la toile, c’est finalement devenu un achat évidement.
Cependant, je reste assez sceptique sur la qualité et la finition de ce mastodonte qu’est BRS. Cela est un sentiment que je n’aurai pas si la figurine était produite par Alter ou encore Max Factory par exemple. En effet, je trouve que malgré de gros projets super ambitieux, Good Smile reste campé en dessous “Al” et “Max” (niveau qualité/finition).
Je vois que tu as choisi de ne pas lui mettre la flamme. Au contraire pour moi, ce sera avec, je trouve que ça fait classe.
Au faite, as-tu acheté les Idolm@ster n°5 et 6?

Clair que Alter et Max Factory sont les meilleurs niveau finition, quel dommage que Max Fact ne sortent plus grand chose …

C’est pas terrible pour mettre la flamme , tu risques d’abimer la peinture :/ pour ca que j’ai pas mis …

Sinon non pour les Idolmasters , je n’avais pas l’argent dispo

Photos are very nice, congratulations
I discovered BRS about 2 weeks ago and pre-ordered the second version with the sword. Well i don’t mind since i have a preference for cold steel sharp weapons :p
Totally love the colors used on her !! It’s something singular she’s having such a flat chest but it’s not unpleasant at all. In fact i see it as an advantage.
Maybe she would be cool to expose without the gun ?

Flat chest can be fine too

I think that without the gun the base would look way too big for her ^^

When using a smaller resolution, the pictures are being scaled from 1024px × 683px (scaled to 806px × 683px). When I maximize the window, there’s enough room and the image appears fine. It’s when the window isn’t large enough to properly display the image is when it gets scaled in Firefox. I have the browser window set to 1024×768, which if you include the padding and margins meas that the 1024 wide image has to be scaled to fit in it’s box. There’s likely some user options to prevent FF from doing this, but I think the default is for FF to scale the image. There might be something in the theme or image plug-in (if it uses one) that’s scaling the image. I checked it in Internet Explorer, which proportionally scales the image, so it looks okay, since it is proportionally scaled. Looks like FF isn’t scaling proportionally.

Nice photos ^^. All the great reviews of her has convinced me to get the Blade version.
It seems some people like the huge base on this version and other hate it. So, I will take the easy way out and get the Blade version with the simplified base While an attractive base is nice, the figure is the real thing I’m interested in and I’ll gladly pay a lower price for a simpler base like in the Blade version Admittedly, I like her cannon here but a cute girl with a sharp sword is also a good thing xD

c’est pas facile de la mettre et j’ai jamais été fan des figurines a monter, elle reste comme elle est de base (et pas envie d’abimer ma fig pour des photos )

Just thought I’d warn people, her hair is extremly delicate, or so I can see from my figure. Her longer ponytail broke off when she was being shipped to me, I was utterly horrified as you can imagine. I think it’s a fantastic figure over all but considering how far they pushed back the release date I was fairly dissapointed with the paint job, needs better scars. It was a real kick in the teeth for me though, I pre-ordered it months in advance for my boyfriend’s birthday in september, didn’t arrive til after christmas!

Yeah you’re right, her hair is really easy to break ’cause the material used is quite hard so a little harder touch and it can break …

Sad to read about the one you order broken hair, were you able to fix it ?

And yes i was and still am disappointed about BRS, so much push back for what ? :/

It’s been a while, glad to see you’re still buying figures, taking pictures … and we’re still buying the same figures ! I recently received Hatsune Miku World is Mine and Black Rock Shooter.
I was surprised to read about the flaws, I believed GSC were still as good as they were in the past :/ I didn’t notice any flaws or issues with the WIM and the BRS I received (except that damned gun and chains being a pain in the ass !)
Anyway BRS is awesome and Hatsune Miku WIM is nice and lies perfectly on the neogeo AES console ^^’

Je prefere sans la flamme perso, la nouvelle version avec pose dynamique va beaucoup mieux avec la flamme. Sur celle ci l’utilité est moindre a mon gout.

Although the chain is a bit of a pain to put on, I like the way that I can customize it to something that I want it to be. Though for the time being it is how the original stock photos look like, I plan on changing it around when I get to do a photo shoot of BRS. My base tilts a little but its pretty stable.

Hmm, I don’t have this one. And I saw the 3rd version (something anime version figure). I wonder would that be better?

The anime version does look awesome, but two things bother me about it . First she’s really little compared to this one, she seems to be not far from half the height of this one … and second, i believe with all the quality problems from Good Smile lately (on World is Mine and on a less important scale on this one too), can they really make a figure that look so detailed, so dynamic ? I’m not so sure. And if they do they’re going to delay it again and again …

And yeah , the chains are so troublesome

Odd, the second and third pictures as well as the 2nd last are out of proportion but the rest are all fine for me (on Firefox, 1024 x 768).

You got another problem with a GSC figure? That’s interesting to know but also a pity that you got a problem after World is Mine. BRS is well anticipated by people who wanted it, and it appears that most are satisfied with the end product in general. Overall BRS is quite monochrome like in terms of colours, so her fresh scars really do stand out (not sure whether it’s in a good way or not, and yea many people don’t like the scars). Details do look good though and is close to the prototype. Hope you can find something to deal with the base though!

So it’s the horizontal pics that looks strange on firefox ? that’s unusual. But well it looks fine on Chrome and IE and some using Firefox are not having this problem

And yeah BRS is not perfect and other people are happy with it because they don’t do serious reviews like i try to do ^^ . I like my figures without any problem, especially when they are delayed for that long

I am happy with BRS, but i just had to point out the problems. Of course she is better quality wise than WIM, but still being from GSC, it’s a disappointement.

The base, well it’s still move a little lol but it’s ok ^^

Still in the box.
I wasn’t sure if the space provided was adequate for Alter Nanoha so I had to wait for her to arrive first before I take BRS out. Sadly Nanoha did not fit in the space provided and I had to do some major moving around. So for now, BRS is still in the box as the sorting around continues.
Love the pictures. I had a chance to grab her with HS points so I love her even more. xD

I dropped BRS some months ago to free up funding for my Dollfie Dream appetite, but it’s nice to see her eyes does have that growing effect. Now, I got to say something about the GSC dropping in quality, in fact I am having a huge problem with them right now. I ordered the White Album girl Ogata Rina and I am disappointed that supposedly gold trim on her dress wasn’t even painted properly! It looked like it is missing several coats of paint! It’s not like they can’t paint the gold trim, other parts of the figure was painted correctly….., in the end, it’s has to be quality issue. I am going to have to write a topic about that soon, quality issues like that shouldn’t be overlooked.
