Miyafuji Yoshika 1/8 (Alter)

More under the cut

Strike Witches was not the best anime, but it was enjoyable. Not for the story (and not *only* for the pantsu shots), but for the characters. The witches team was full of different personalities and it was fun watching them develop their feelings and fear about the war. So i was glad when i hear that Alter was making the figures, as i knew it would be the most accurate version of the characters that we could get (compared to the Kotobukiya’s ones … i was NOT happy to know that they were making them too …).

First girl from the team, the cheerful Yoshika. And i am not disappointed with the way Alter choose to present her. She really looks the same as she is in the show, with a bright smile on her face. The chara design is really nicely respected, all is near perfection, the proportions of the body, face, body, colors. All is here and that’s always nice. And like always with Alter, the retail version is exactly like the proto shots so if you preordered her, you won’t be disappointed by what you’ll be getting.

Now the only strange thing is her weight. I think it’s the first time i see a figure that weight nearly nothing. It’s crazy when you take her in the hands, she’s so light ! Maybe it’s because she fly in the anime but really i was surprised ! But not a bad thing but it does feels a little cheap because of this. Strange but the quality if the figure is not cheap, with accurate painting (but seen better from Alter) and great overall look. And i love Yoshika’s face a lot !

A great work from Alter, i’m sad to see that for now i’m the only one who preordered her …

So if you like the show/character/Alter, buy her right now, she is worth it.

Yoshika gets 4 Exelica out of 5.

Good: nice pose, great overall look, paint work looks good, an original character in a sea of Sabers and Mikus …

Bad: feels cheap (because of her weight), painting’s not as precise as usual Alter’s work, not a lots of details (compared to other Alter’s productions, like Jubei), the base is NOT good.

Do they have legs like this in the show too ?? That’s ….. unusual lol
What pleases most here is the face, very cute smile and ears but i do also love beautiful and long legs in a figure so this one is a big problem.
In the end i’m not very excited looking at it, too many things doesn’t suit my taste.
Still photos are great and shows a lot, that’s appreciable. Indeed the base look crap :/ Arent’t your afraid pins that support it would break ??

It’s not legs , just things they use to fly and battle in the sky. They do have real legs ^^

i love legs a lot too ^^ but i loved her face too much to pass buying her. And yes base is not great … but she’s so light that it will not break, she weight nearly nothing lol

    I actually approve of Koto`s Camletoe-tastoc figures ^^;;;;;
The faces were horrribly off though.

I didnt particulary like Yosika but it looks like a nice figure and you can never go wrong with a girl plus a big gun :D

I didnt expect her to be lightwight since Alters figures always feel really heavy compared to other manufacturers

Wow she’s more gorgeous than what I thought! Love Strike Witches, but wasn’t really tempted by this figure, because as you said looks a bit cheap and not as good as other ALTER figs. But well, maybe I’ll give her another think.
Are you going to grab Sanya, now ALTER has unveiled some pictures of her? ^^

I will grab Sanya, yes ^^

You should consider buying her, she’s worth a buy, love her :)

I’m on the fence about this figure. It seems it depends a lot on how the photographer has made use of lighting and white balance because sometimes she comes off as really pale and others a decent skin tone, such as your pictures.

It looks like Alter did pretty decently on the clothes but only average on the strike units and skin, maybe a tiny bit above average on skin but it doesn’t really seem that out standing to me in all the pictures I’ve seen.

Having not seen the series though and only some artwork, mostly fanart, I can’t really say too much about how they match their characters, but I did like Kotobukiya’s, though it could be the whole cameltoe-tastic pose as Blowfish mentions. Maybe I’m just a sucker for fanservice.

Her skin tone is really nice, and it’s exactly like in my pics. She’s not pale at all, at least not mine.

You should watch the show, not awesome but nice and i love the chara design. Koto’s cameltoes were ok but not the base and the stupic plastic thing to let the figure stay in the air. Looks like a figma to me ^^

Yoshika is my favorite Strike-witch girl.
I like this figure and looks amazingly good and decent in your pictures but i think the figure could have be done better. Im not saying is a bad figure. It has good quality and detail but an average figure.

Well even if she’s not awesome, i still love her pose and face a lot. And yes Yoshika is great ^^

But from Alter, i expected a more dynamic pose for a girl who fly :(

I love your new way of presenting reviews a lot! But where’s the white background :)
I like this figures except her robotized legs. It’s this only thing that prevent me from buying it.
On the contrary, compared to Koto, it’s really day and night.
Indeed it’s strange she’s so light… still she looks massive.

Was bored of the white background and i still have my next review on it ^^

I can understand about the robos parts , legs are way more sexy than this … But at least it’s original :o

Still can’t understand her weight, it’s really strange :s

Jolie revoew.

    can’t wait for her to arrive, but she won’t ship until mio is in stock ^^; then my review will be delayed further because i will almost definitely shoot nanoha first ^^;

as such, happy to see your review ^^ hair and outfit seem like they could use more details but i really like the execution on the face.

Not sure about Nanoha, she’s ready to ship at CD Japan but will maybe cancel her … 9740 yens shipping is a little to much :/ . Add 70 $ taxes in the end and i will say France sux ! :(

But glad you bought Yoshika, i was thinking that i would be the only one buying her … I’ll have at least one review to link to :D

I love her face a lot yes ^^

I had 2 options. Get her and cancel Nanoha or cancel her for Nanoha and off course, I chose Nanoha. I wouldn’t be in this situation if she was not delayed but that’s out of my control. :(
Currently having regrets now as I wanted both. Love the pictures. One day if I see her at a convention, will grab her for sure. :)
