Elwing ~ Goddess of Forest ~ 1/6 (Kotobukiya) review

Elwing gets 4.5 Exelica out of 5 (i really wanted to give her a 5 but the painting can still be better)
The good: – she looks like the proto shots – big, gracious and ultra sexy – the hair is detailled but still perfectly made without any defect – great use of gradiant colors on the clothes.
The bad: – the paint work is good on most parts but some sloppy painting there and there, if you looks closely you can even spot some little marks and defects on the “dress” – the paint used is not “vibrant” enough, as always with Kotobukiya.
Yay, for once no disappointement with a figure. Another 1/6 figure that prove my theory that Kotobukiya’s figures are not great when they’re 1/8 but they’re way better when they’re bigger. This Elwing is beautifuly sculpted and looks gorgeous. The paint job is sloppy at time but for the most part and at a normal distance, it looks awesome (and the nails are painted, pink). Gradiant colors looks great and the base color is beautiful. And you can’t really see with pics, but believe me, Elwing’s eyes looks amazing from close up (both pair yeah but i meant the upper ones ^-^).
A beautiful figure that you should buy if you like beautiful girls. And i know you all do.

I like her hair in the darker photos with the flowers, but in your studio shots with the glare from the flash, they seem too reflective. They seem like the plastic that they are.
Likewise, how do you feel about her dress? The shine at the bottom does not make it look like a transparent gauze, but like plastic, which is unfortunate.
The figure is nice, big and graceful, but I feel it is a bit too bland. Less is more, but sometimes you could use a bit more, you know? There’s not enough there. But yes, you could also look at it as less to distract you
The final comment is her eyes seem to be unfocused, and give her face a slightly too vacant of a look. I have the artbook that this is based on, and Tony Taka has hot stuff.

In real nothing is reflective or look plastic, in fact the “dress” looks awesome with normal light, looks like a real jade color. But yeah sadly my setup with lots of light is not too good for this fig

Elwing/Elwyn is very pretty, but I don’t really dig that facial expression. It’s like she’s confused over why she’s posing so gracefully. But otherwise the figure looks GREAT. Out of my price range, though.

You know,Im strill shocked that this is a Koto figure since the only Koto figure I own is Kanzaki Kaori and shes umm well yeah…. ^^;;;

Each time I see pics of her, I makes me more impatient to receive mine o.O (preordered her at Lapinourose to avoid taxes).
I saw the clothes were not on their corners on Foo-bar-baz review. So what you say just confirm that point.
Regarding your theory “1/6 scaled figure by Koto are ok while 1/8′s are not” : maybe it could be explained with the fact that if the same kind of mold is used for 1/6 and 1/8 scaled figure, it improves the relative thinness of the the 1/6 scaled figure. Do you see what I mean?
You have to include the pics with the green background in this review, haven’t you?
And do you plan to get Xecty?

Vraiment jolie, ca doit être une figurine assez impressionnante en vraie ^^ Et si Pita dit du bien de Koto, c’est qu’elle doit etre étonnament bien réalisée lol. Moi je bloque un peu sur le visage, mais c’est purement personnel et c’est tant mieux pour moi, mon compte bancaire me remercie (pour le moment lol).
