Mercedes 1/8 (Alter) review

Of course, Mercedes is getting five Exelica out of five.
The good: – everything.
The bad: – ??? do i really need to write something here?
It’s simple, this Mercedes from Alter is the new “champion” in the figure world, there is no PVC more polished, detailled and stunning than this one. The paint used is simply gorgeous and the retail version is as perfect as every figures should be. The only minor gripe would be her arbalest that looks like a toy close up, compared to all the rest that looks nearly “organic”.
If you only have money to buy one figure this year, don’t hesitate one second. Really, don’t. It’s the first time i see a retail figure as flawless and perfect as this one, there is no dot, scratch or any little mark on Mercedes. I’m simply impressed and i’m just going to be even more hard on GSC now.

Elle est vraiment superbe. C’était la figurine que j’attendais le plus en 2010 avec Sora (mais elles ne jouent pas dans la même cour). Je suis encore plus impatiente de la recevoir maintenant!

Looks like a great figure! My only complaint however is the gap between her thighs. It seems quite large and doesn’t appeal to me. The rest of the figure however looks quite good, and I like the flowers you added, they fit in perfectly with Mercedes.

I personally don’t see a problem with the gap but if that’s the only problem for you, you can’t see any gap when exposed normally

I’ve heard of others bothered by the gap as well. The gap seems to be there even in several of George Kamitani’s (original artist) pictures of her. Kind of weird since she’s the ONLY fairy that seems to have wide-set legs like that. Maybe it’s the pants.

Exquisite shots for an exquisite figure! The light just sings out in this set of pictures! I can’t wait to own her myself (^_^) that frog is just too kawaii!!!

I heard this figure has been suffering delays after delays. Don’t really know much about Odin Sphere, but I heard it’s a long anticipated figure for the fans
Saw a review from a Japanese blog on this figure recentl. Apparently the water surface part can be lifted off, revealing a tadpole underneath. I thought this is quite a nice touch there added by ALTER, and hey you may even consider store stuff down in there too ^^;
I can’t say much about the figure itself but it does look like it’s a high quality figure as expected from ALTER. Really like how you have flowers to go around the base to make it seem very natural – blends in very smoothly I must say!

This is an interesting figure. I thought we made a deal, to post for each review at least one picture with the “negative background”, that is, at least one shot with black background for this figure? In order to get a better look at the colours.
The vividness in some shots is too great, and those wings, they are quite special!
My only question/worry is leaning… is the bow made of PVC or ABS?

If i took pics with the black background, it would have taken too much time

Her wings look really,really impressive.
I also like the colourful vibe shes giving off and that little frog is pretty cute.
