Good: Great dynamic pose, base more detailled than usual, bigger than expected.

Bad: Control quality sux, some samples of Canaan are poorly painted at best. The hair is not looking too great, too bulky. Poor painting on the base, especially if you compare to the proto shots.

This Canaan is not a bad figure, mine is correct but i saw some very bad painted one out there. So another Good Smile figure, another lottery. Not as bad as the control quality for World is Mine but still really bad for Good Smile.

Canaan is getting three Exelica out of five.

So the figure i was waiting for the most is not as flawless as i thought she would be. I mean, yes she does looks awesome and the painting is indeed way better than on World is Mine, but there is still some flaws there and there and again i will say that Good Smile QC is not as great as it was … Worse part is the base, constitued of three parts glued together. Sadly the hight of each part is not the same as the others so there is like five millimeters difference between the front of the base and the back … And the chains are a real bother to put on, the instructions are really stupids, we can’t see anything on it … Because of all that, the gun can’t really stay in place so if you move the figure , beware.

Still it’s not all that bad and the overall look of BRS is great and the retail version looks like the proto shots. So you won’t be disapointed, but i do hope these (minor ?) problems are not affecting all BRS.

Good: Great overall look,beautiful base, good paint job (the coat looks awesome !) .

Bad: Base isn’t flat, chains are a bother to put on, gun’s not standing correctly. Quality control again ?

Here’s the second figure from the eroge “Unity Marriage” , the colorful May . After a nice Yuno but with a cast off that i didn’t like much and a overall quality not as good (some little seamlines and a painting nor perfect) as older Good Smile figures , i was really waiting for this one , to see if Good Smile can get back in the top three figures maker . And it’s a yes .

If you look at May , you can easily compare her at Yami : same one feet pose , same expression and same dynamic pose . But people at Good Smile didn’t made her as good as Yami but better , thanks to the awesome colors on the “kimono wings” .

The painting is very solid and the colors used are well chosen . The flowers and the gradient colors used on the clothes looks beautiful to looks at (thanks to the nice shading) . May stands on the base despite the scary pose , with the help os a metal bar that goes into her foot . I have to say that i’m not too sure about her never falling , i mean it looks ok yes but i guess it’s wait and see …

Overall May is a really beautiful figure , with a great pose and beautiful colors , with no real flaw . Maybe her face is too neutral and misses a stronger expression but i think it’s good that way . And you can choose to expose her without the hat of course (but she looks better with) . So yes , even if you didn’t buy Yuno , i can only say that you need this one , she’s worth it .

9.3/10 : A great looking girl with awesome colors . Another must buy if you like the character design .

Here’s the awesome Yami , this time from Good Smile . Already out of stock nearly everywhere , i can only say no one will get disapointed buying her , as she looks 99.9 % like the proto .

This one was made to be paired with the Good Smile Lala so the pose and overall look are really similar . Like Lala , the sculptor at Good Smile chose to put Yami in a one foot pose , using ABS to prevent bending . The best thing about Yami is that she’s really dynamic , i believe it’s the only figure that made us feel she’s really spinning or moving , i mean , look at the hair (full ABS too) and the way the clothes are floating in the air ! Her face and expression are quite great too , she’s already preparing to kill the people looking at her pantsu ^^ . But do we have any choice ? It’s not as she was wearing a lots of clothes right ? An optional arm is in the box , this way you can change her right hand into a deadly blade (in the show she can transform any part of her body into weapons) .

The painting is really nicely done , there is some great détails on her clothes and her skin tone looks good . The overall quality of this Yami is really good , it’s Good Smile at their best , and that’s a good thing .

Yami’s fans can be happy to now be able to chose between two great looking figures . The Alpha Omega version was already a must buy , with a good pose , a nice base and a cute expression , when this Good Smile version is more dynamic and shiny .

So comparing the Alpha/Omega version to this one , which is the best ? . Tough choice indeed …
If i had to choose , i would go for the Alpha/Omega one : painting a little more precise (no one can beat Alter’s painting finish) and her pose and expression , while eating taiyaki is more cute . The overall look is a little better too . But Good Smile’s Yami has an awesome dynamic pose , glossy paint and aweome hair (and a nice pantsu view) so she’s a worthy choice too . I guess the only way to find out wich one to buy is to ask to yourself if your prefer sitting figures or standing ones .

9/10 : a great dynamic figure from Good Smile , and she looks exactly like the proto shots so it’s impossible to be disapointed with her . A worthy choice if you’re in need of a Yami figure .

Here’s the first Nendoroid from the game Trigger Heart Exelica . This one is limited and is ONLY sold with the limited edition of the enhanced version of the Dreamcast game , for the Playstation 2 . As a fan of the characters from this game , i just needed to buy it , even if i’m bored of the Nendoroids . Initially planned for a 2008 release , Exelica was pushed back to March 2009 and here she is , finally . People at Good Smile sure love to make us wait .

Now that the wait is over , was it worth waiting for the re release of a Dreamcast game with just new CGs , a big box with just a Nendo and a so high price ? I think it’s a no , even if the Nendoroid is good , i can’t understand why we have to paid such a crazy price for a 2007 game (sold 50 dollars two years ago and now available on the Xbox live marketplace for like 12 dollars !) . That said , i still paid , because it’s the only way to get the Nendoroid , marketing people sure knows how otaku’s like us feel …

Let’s get back on the review , i won’t say much , there’s no surprises , it’s a Nendo from Good Smile so you know what to expect . The paint job and the quality is on par with the other Nendoroids but it’s nice to see that Good Smile used EXACTLY the same colors and painting than the 1/8 scale Exelica so she looks the way she should be . It’s nice too to see that she comes with 3 faces , another pair of legs and an optional arm , Nendos lovers are gonna be pleased with that . Of course she comes too with the two “pods” weapons that the 1/8 version had .

So yes , if you love the game or the character and if you have the money , you can buy this one without thinking , you probably won’t be disapointed BUT i am a little . All is not perfect , as on mine two of the heads were impossible to take off , i had to use a pair of pliers and even with that it was very hard … And the legs don’t come out at all on mine , i don’t want to force too much but it’s the first time i had this problem on a Nendoroid … So i wasn’t able to take pics with the other legs on … Quite sad to see that on a high priced limited figure … I hope it’s only mine who had this problem …

Still it’s the ultimate Nendoroid , the awesome character design of Exelica associated to the cuteness of the Nendos series and we’ve got a winner . Don’t think lots of figures collectors are gonna be able to resist buying this one.

9.5/10 : An awesome looking Nendoroid , really cute with nice colors and painting . A must buy , if you’re ok to pay more that it should be …
