Here’s the second figure from the eroge “Unity Marriage” , the colorful May . After a nice Yuno but with a cast off that i didn’t like much and a overall quality not as good (some little seamlines and a painting nor perfect) as older Good Smile figures , i was really waiting for this one , to see if Good Smile can get back in the top three figures maker . And it’s a yes .

If you look at May , you can easily compare her at Yami : same one feet pose , same expression and same dynamic pose . But people at Good Smile didn’t made her as good as Yami but better , thanks to the awesome colors on the “kimono wings” .

The painting is very solid and the colors used are well chosen . The flowers and the gradient colors used on the clothes looks beautiful to looks at (thanks to the nice shading) . May stands on the base despite the scary pose , with the help os a metal bar that goes into her foot . I have to say that i’m not too sure about her never falling , i mean it looks ok yes but i guess it’s wait and see …

Overall May is a really beautiful figure , with a great pose and beautiful colors , with no real flaw . Maybe her face is too neutral and misses a stronger expression but i think it’s good that way . And you can choose to expose her without the hat of course (but she looks better with) . So yes , even if you didn’t buy Yuno , i can only say that you need this one , she’s worth it .

9.3/10 : A great looking girl with awesome colors . Another must buy if you like the character design .

Here’s the first figure from Good Smile for 2009 , and for me it’s a little disappointment …
This is not a bad figure , not at all but i was expecting more … I hope people at Good Smile are not going to stop improving in figures because they sell lots of Nendoroids … But seeing the quality of figures from Alter in 2008 (Lala , Yami , Klan and Gwendolyn) , i can’t help but expect more from all the makers …
I’m aware i’m surely going to be the only one writting a not so nice review for Pixy but i decided to be more strict so it starts now .

I can’t say that she doesn’t look like the proto shoots , Good Smile delivered an exact copy to the proto and that’s good . So what’s the problem then ? It’s the cast off , again . I don’t like cast off option on figures and this time again it makes a great figure looks less nice . The cast off system is not too hard to do but it’s going to leave marks on your figure and paint … And worse , the outfit parts on her legs can be cast off too but because of the transparency or if , the cast off system is easy to spot and there is big separation lines on it … i don’t know if you can see it on the pics , but in real it’s a bother for me …

The paint job on the figure is good , nice shading on the body and hair and the details on the pumpkin are impressive . her face is really cute too and the eyes (both pair ^^) are nicely painted . BUT why separate the two strands from the head ? It’s a bother to put on the figure and it looks easy to break … The best part is that her “hat” (the pumpkin) is magnetic and another magnet is on Pixy head , so the hat is fun to put on and remove . Sadly the rest of the cast off is not magnetic , maybe they should do something like that for all the body .

Overall Pixy is a really cute figure with a sweet pose and nice painting , but the bad cast off system and the separation lines on the legs parts is spoiling the general quality quite a bit …

Here’s the first girl from the eroge “Unity Marriage” (Kazami Mei , the second girl is going to be released in february) .
Yuno stands at a good 20 cm (1/8 scale) and is typical Good Smile work .
I think it’s safe to say that she looks like Lala (Good smile too) in more than one way and the white glossy paint used on Lala outfit is used again on Yuno gloves and “stockings” .

Technically it’s typical Good Smile work with great shading on the skirt , skin and hair . The hair is quite interesting because of the nice looking print on it . It makes Yuno stands out more compared to the other figures . The one foot pose can again make us fear of some future leaning but the leg is in ABS and she does have a metallic bar in the foot . And i trust Good Smile so i hope we won’t see lots of Yuno falling soon ^^ .

The cuteness of this figure is quite high , and she is sexy too , with the obvious pantsu shot (and how the hell is it fixed ?) and the cast off feature for the upper “eyes” ^^ .
Her face is gorgeous , with her beautifully painted green eyes , she is truly a looker . The wings (made from clear plastic) are a nice feature too , as it add more dynamic to the figure . The two jewels heart shaped used to fix the wings are nicely made too , and add more girly touch to an already girly figure (because of the pink colors scheme and the flowers prints) . So fans of girls with big guns or weapons , Yuno is not for you .

Good Smile did their usual job , as the painting is very good (but i do have a dot on the hair , but it happens) and the overall look of the figure is gorgeous . Yuno is totally cute and can be displayed as more sexy with the cast off option . The work on the base is nice too (but again it’s pink , really not a figure for pink haters ^^) , it’s always good to see real work on the base , as it’s rare for figures makers to do an effort with that …

And if i had to choose one figure this year that respects totally the proto shots , it would be this one , Unity Yuno looks EXACTLY like the proto and that’s the proof that Good Smile gives us what they promise .

Cute girl with gorgeous colors and a near perfect painting . Add to this a nice base and a sweet pose and you get a must buy for figures collectors . But only if you don’t have nightmares about pink ^^ .
